Fake news programs on YouTube: a network with actors in Argentina creates propaganda in favor of Delcy Rodríguez

At least 14 channels with the appearance of news broadcasts in Venezuela broadcast propaganda favorable to Delcy Rodríguez -the interim president of that country after the capture of Nicolás Maduro- through paid advertising on YouTube. And they do it through guidelines created by the Argentine agency FG Medios SA., according to a fact checking site investigation Venezuelan Fake News Hunters.

Channels publish videos that carry logos from at least 23 fake media outlets from different countries, including Argentina, along with Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Ecuador and the United States, with presenters who speak Spanish with various accents.

According to investigation of the Venezuelan environmentGoogle’s Ads Transparency Center records 55 videos published on at least 14 channels, all linked to a single advertiser. The pieces seek to project a favorable image of Delcy Rodríguez and, to a lesser extent, of her brother Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly.

Besides, the work identified 15 of the presenters of the fake news programs that amplify narratives favorable to Delcy Rodríguez and found that They are all actors, announcers or models who live in Argentina; the majority were Argentine citizens, who were hired and recorded the videos as a freelance job.

55 videos of fake news in Venezuela

As of March 13, 2026, the propaganda operation in favor of Delcy Rodríguez is structured around, at least, 14 YouTube channels that group together some 55 videos distributed under the name of 19 supposed news programs.

The videos feature 20 different presenters with 6 different accents – including neutral Spanish – and most of them feature Rodríguez; while his brother is mentioned in 3.

The channel with the greatest weight on the network is called “Hispan Online”. It concentrates 30 of the 55 videos identified to date and functions as a central node for amplification of the content produced by pseudo newscasts.

The channels publish content in Spanish as if it were multiple spontaneous local coverages. Until now, Fake News Hunters identified: “Hispan Online”, “Nación Argentina”, “Colombia Actual”, “Panorama Colombiano”, “La Perspectiva Global”, “México en Data”, “Informe Mexicano”, “United Data News”, “Continental Report”, “Nación Digital MX”, “Chile en Data”, “Argentina en Perspectiva”, “EC En Analysis” and “The European Report”.

The names of these channels, however, do not always coincide with those of the supposed news programs that appear on the screen. Although some have their own channel, others function as interchangeable brands, as in the case of “Hispan Online”, which contains videos labeled as Atlantic Report, Informe Austral, Panorama Colombiano and 10 more, in addition to 3 clips from the real coverage of Delcy Rodríguez that AFP and Canal 26 of Argentina have done.

Thirteen of the channels were created in less than 2 weeks, between February 18 and March 1, 2026. According to Cazadores, the existence of patterns in creation dates is another indicator that reveals the existence of an inauthentic coordinated operation and that these editorial identities do not correspond to real media outlets.

Even so, none of these videos are visible when visiting the channels directly from their YouTube profiles, as they were hidden by their operators, marking them as “unlisted.”

Despite this, the videos were tracked through the Google Ads Transparency Center, where they appear linked to a single advertiser: FG Media Public Limited Companyan advertising agency from Buenos Aires with active advertising on YouTube, whose owner is the businessman Fernando Gioia.

At the close of the investigation of the Venezuelan site, the FG Medios profile in the Google Ads Transparency Center registered 40 videos linked to the influence operation that were still active.

Checked contacted FG Medios to ask them about it, but did not receive a response at the time of publication of this note.

Videos that make references to real media

The analyzed videos do not contain obvious hoaxes or rumors that YouTube users can easily identify and report as misinformation. By relying on quotes from real media outlets, their narratives are more difficult to disprove.

The most frequent mentions correspond to Reuters, with 10 appearances in the 55 videos analyzed, followed by EFE with 9, Infobae with 8, Perfil with 6 and El País (Spain) with 5. Screenshots of articles published by France 24 and AP appear in 4 videos each, while Semana, The Guardian, AFP and CNN appear in 2.

In total, there are screenshots of 76 different web pages, including news agencies, real media, Venezuelan propaganda portals and specialized energy media.

The actors in the videos live in Argentina

The presenters who narrate the videos They are not journalists either, nor are they made with artificial intelligence. Fake News Hunters determined that it is a group of actors and models residing in Argentina.

The majority are Argentine citizens, although Colombians and Chileans were also identified.. Several of the actors have knowledge of voice-over and dubbing, so they can simulate different accents, depending on the supposed country of origin of each newscast. Others also work as models.

Fake News Hunters contacted the 15, but received no response from 14. Only one person responded, but his identity is reserved. She was sent the link to one of the news videos and confirmed being the speaker. She explained that she has knowledge of professional voiceover and that an agency had contacted her to do the job.

Their statement confirms that the presenters were hired through an intermediary and that the work was presented to them as a communication assignment, according to the investigation.

Until now, it is unknown if the actors knew that the recorded material would be used as paid propaganda favorable to the Delcy Rodríguez administration, or if they recorded other clips that were not related to Venezuela.

The original version of this investigation was published by Cazadores de Fake News in 2 parts. The first It was published on March 13, 2026, and the secondon March 17.
