Everything ready for the first edition of Monte Cannabis Salud

Monte Hermoso already has everything prepared for the holding of a new event in its annual tourist calendar, and entirely dedicated to health. The Monte Cannabis Salud will take place on November 22 and 23, with talks, stands, exhibitions and much more.

The event had to be suspended last March due to the tragic flood that hit Bahía Blanca. At that time, the organization understood that it was not the best time to carry it out and it was decided to postpone it to November of this year.

In any case, the schedule, activities and expectations remained the same as the first day.

For this reason, in November and throughout the two days of the long weekend, the Montehermoseño sports center will host a series of talks between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., with national speakers on the subject. From the Montehermoseña commune, the event is presented as “a scientific, academic and business fair, with brands related to the world of medicinal cannabis sector.”

Thus, on the basketball court of the sports center there will be stands and institutional positions from universities, Conicet and INTI, as well as legal and veterinary offices. To all this will be added a gastronomic and leisure offer, more aimed at tourism and with the idea of attracting the public, with food trucks and music.

“We will have protagonists from the world of medicinal cannabis; we will talk about various issues, such as the legal part or the use of pets. There will also be a fair with the participation of companies related to the sector,” said the Montehermoseño Secretary of Health, Adrián Ruiz.

Among the speakers are Marcelo Morante, from the National University of La Plata (UNLP) and the Cannabis Program (Procanna); Carlos D’Anna, from the province of Buenos Aires; Silvia Kochen, from Conicet; Guillermo Moreno, promoter of Law 27,669 on Medicinal Cannabis and Industrial Hemp, and Ana María García Nicora, founder of Medicinal Cannabis Argentina (Cameda).

There will also be Diego Sarasola, from Universidad Favaloro and Fundación Foro; Valeria Salech, president and co-founder of Mamá Cultiva Argentina; Roberto Fernández, from INTA; Pablo Fazio, from the Daya Foundation and the NGO Ciencia Sativa, and Federico Pavlovsky, from the Center for Cannabis Culture Studies.

In this regard, the head of the Tourism area, Franco Gentili, remarked that the expectations that exist for the meeting “are good, since it is the first event we have held linked to this topic.”

“It is something new for Monte Hermoso, with a very strong content linked to health, science, legal and medicinal – he explained -. On the other hand, like all the events we do, it has an important touristic tone, in which we try to position the destination in each of the themes, in this case linked to cannabis.”

The official stressed that “the idea is for people to come and for the event to position itself.”

“We have high expectations, because we had to postpone it at the time. The idea is for it to be something new and disruptive, but also attractive. It’s going to be a long weekend, so we’re expecting a lot of people,” he said.

Gentili also highlighted the quality of the exhibitors and the talks.

“They are the best in the country. We are working together with the production of the Cannabis Expo that takes place in the Federal Capital, which is one of the largest in Latin America, and the institutional organizations are the same ones that participate,” he clarified.

Without Collective Festival

In recent days, the decision of the municipality of Monte Hermoso to suspend the 2025 edition of the traditional Collective Festival was announced, which normally takes place in mid-November in the resort and is one of the main events on its tourist calendar.

The decision, it was explained from the commune, was purely economic. The money invested from Monte Hermoso for the celebration, which for this opportunity was estimated at around 150 million pesos, will be used to pay municipal salaries and issues related to health, employment and education.

“It is a decision that cost us a lot and we don’t like it at all – Franco Gentili acknowledged -. Today we find ourselves attending to other priorities, in a complex economic reality, so we prefer to attend to other needs.”

The official clarified that although this event was postponed until next year, the rest of the activities planned within the tourist calendar will be carried out, including Mount Cannabis and the Season Opening with the Beer Festival, in addition to other sports competitions.

“They are more bankable events: the triathlon is practically advanced; Monte Cannabis was an event that we already had set up and budgeted for March, and that we only had to postpone, and the Beer Festival is the opening of the season, and for us it is of vital importance – he noted -. We want to maintain the calendar.” (Monte Hermoso Agency)
