Barry Keoghan revealed that she isolated herself due to a wave of online hate criticizing her appearance, following her breakup with the pop star Sabrina Carpenterwhich closed Lollapalooza in San Isidro last Sunday.

Keoghan added: “I think I’ve moved away from the Internet, but I’m still a curious person who wants to move forward, and if I go to an event or go somewhere, I want to see how I’m received. And it’s not pleasant.”
The Irish actor revealed that he has been avoiding public events due to the constant backlash. And he commented: “It’s becoming a problem. I don’t have to hide because I already do. I don’t have to go to certain places because, in fact, I don’t go to certain places for these things. But when that starts to affect your art, it becomes a problem because then you don’t even want to appear on the screen anymore.”
Keoghan, father of three-year-old Brando, said he also worries about the impact this hate will have on his young son, commenting on the radio show: “It’s disappointing for the fans, but it’s also disappointing that my son has to read all this when he’s older.”
Barry and Sabrina split in December 2024 after being inseparable for the year they were dating. Keoghan even appeared in the music video for Please Please Pleasewhere Sabrina sings begging her boyfriend not to cheat on her… but once the couple ended their relationship, SC fans immediately stopped supporting Barry.

Fans were surprised – or not – when the actor’s Instagram account only showed an error page, along with a note stating that “the page may have been deleted.”
However, Barry didn’t delete all of his social media; his X account was still active. At the time there were rumors and speculation, but no proof, that Barry had been unfaithful to Sabrina.
