The Argentine Robotics Cup is back, aimed at secondary students from all over the country

It is undeniable that the use of technological tools is accelerating worldwide. For this reason, skills linked to the STEAM disciplines – science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics – are increasingly in demand. In this context, it is essential to carry out initiatives that promote research, study and development of these subjects.

In this framework, Educabot announced the launch of the Educabot Robotics Cup 2026an educational competition that calls on students from all over the country to design technological solutions through robotics, programming and artificial intelligence.

The competition is aimed at students between 15 and 18 years old from public and private schools. It is important to consider that adolescents They do not need to have previous experience in robotics or programming to participate because the objective, precisely, is to bring new generations closer to the world of innovation and technology. Throughout the entire development of this contest, students will participate in instances of training, mentoring and trainingaccompanied by teacher mentors and specialists, on a journey that combines technical learning with the development of socio-emotional skills.

To participate, interested educational institutions can register until April 10through from the official platform of the contest. Each school can register the number of teams it wishes, although onlyup to two teams per institution will qualify for the provincial semifinals.

“Competition promotesdiversity and inclusion in participation and encourages the formation of diverse teams and respect for all identities, without establishing gender restrictions. In the final instance, mixed teams will receive additional pointsas a way to encourage equitable participation,” they explain from Educabot.

HeLast year more than 3,600 young people participatedsecondary level of seven provinces. While students from the provinces of Salta, Río Negro and Jujuy stood on the podium.

One of the main incentives of the contest is its international projection:The winning team of the national final will represent Argentina in the robotics world championship FIRST Global Challengewhich will take place in South Korea from October 7 to 10. Since its creation in 2017, this event brings together young people from more than 190 countries every year to develop technological challenges inspired by global problems linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, the competition includes$100,000,000 in prizes for the winning teamswhile the semi-finalist teams will receiverobotics kitsto continue developing technological projects in their schools.

The Educabot 2026 Robotics Cup will take place in four stages that combine virtual challenges, remote programming and in-person competitions in different provinces of the country.

TheThe first stage is developed virtually and functions as an initial instance of evaluation and learning.. During this period, teams must solve challenges related to computational thinking, creativity and problem solving.

At the end of this stage,They classify up to 100 teams per provinceto advance to the next phase.

In this stage, the classified teams must solve a technical programming challenge related to robotics and artificial intelligence.

After evaluating the results,Up to 50 teams per province advance to the next stage.

A training and training phase will take place here, followed by the in-person provincial semifinals.

The semi-finalist teams will receive theofficial kit of the Educabot 2026 Robotics Cup. During this period, students and mentor teachers accesstraining modules and training materialsthrough the contest’s digital platform, with the aim of experimenting with robotics kits, strengthening their technical skills and preparing for the in-person competition.

between theJune 23 and July 10will be developedprovincial semi-finalsthrough locally organized in-person events. During these days, the teams compete in different matches using the robots developed during the training stage.

At the end of the semifinals, the best positioned teams from each provincequalify for the National Final.

The last stage of the contest will bring together the winning teams from each province in Neuquén. During the day, participants will compete again under the system of rotating alliances, facing different robotic challenges that will test their technical, strategic and collaborative capacity.

At the close of the competition, the final ranking will be established and the winning team will represent Argentina in the FIRST Global Challenge robotics world championship in South Korea.

“This edition has a very special meaning for us because in 2026 we celebrate 10 years of Educabot working to integrate technology into classrooms and expand learning opportunities throughout the country,” says Felipe Herrera Zoppi, co-founder of the company.
