Autumn begins to settle in the National Parks of Argentina and express the changes in the landscape that make this time special. It happens in the Pre Delta NP, near Diamante on Entre Ríos soil; in the yungas of Jujuy, where the Calilegüa NP is located; in Corrientes with the Mburucuyá; in Patagonia with the Arrayanes and the Nahuel Huapi in Bariloche or the Tierra del Fuego National Park. They are settings to discover, explore and feed the soul.
1) Calilegua National Park
It extends over the eastern slopes of the Sierras de Calilegua, in the province of Jujuy and is part of the Yungas Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO). Its strength is that it invites you to explore its deep valleys and ravines covered by exuberant vegetation.
The park has more than ten pedestrian trails, making it an ideal option for hiking – with guide options – and bird and wildlife watching in general; with recreational areas, viewpoints, toilets and a free camping area.
Provincial Route 38 allows you to travel by vehicle. It is possible to take advantage of accommodation and tourist services in nearby towns such as Calilegua and Libertador General San Martín, to the south, or San Francisco del Valle, to the north.
2) Mburucuyá National Park
Located in the great depression of the Iberaexpresses the three ecoregions that converge: the Humid Chaco, with its dense vegetation; the Espinal, drier and thornier; and the Paranaense Jungle, which houses great biodiversity. In addition, the area is neighboring the town of Mburucuyá, which was recognized as Cradle of Chamamé and has a museum and thematic circuits linked to this music declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The protected area is home to more than 300 species and has four trails to cross diverse environments along with their associated flora and fauna. It also has recreation, picnic and camping areas to spend both the day and the night, along with various services for your stay.
The Santa Lucía estuary is one of the great attractions of the park. After a walk, you arrive at a viewpoint from where you can contemplate sunsets over the body of water, along with a great diversity of species linked to the wetland.
3) Pre-Delta National Park
The Pre Delta PN protected area can be visited all year round, but at this time The drop in temperatures brings fresh air to explore its trails or adventure on a kayak outing with authorized providers.
There are trails that allow you to walk through riverine forests and aquatic environments, as well as grasslands and vegetation typical of the Espinal eco-region, where the great diversity of birds protected by the Park allows you to practice species observation. It is also ideal to enjoy the day in the La Jaula picnic or daytime recreation area, equipped with stoves or grills, tables and benches.
The park has a free wild camping area (registration is required when entering the area) with stoves and bathrooms, for those who prefer to opt for an overnight stay in a natural environment. As alternatives, the offer of services in the neighboring town of Diamante, located just 4.5 km where you can carry out multiple nautical, recreational and cultural activities
The park has areas for public use to enjoy in front of a stream with vegetation typical of the Delta and Paraná Islands ecoregion.
4) Los Arrayanes National Park / Nahuel Huapi
Los Arrayanes National Park was created in 1971 as a protected area separate from the Nahuel Huapi National Park. It preserves specimens of myrtle trees that are more than 650 years old and have a height of more than 15 meters. Walking in a forest full of nuances between green and cinnamon tones that this species offers turns the tour into a magical experience.
It is an area with various tourist destinations consolidated in nearby areas.: the important city of Bariloche, the charm of Villa La Angostura and Villa Traful in the North Zone, among other destinations; all with a wide range of accommodation and services.
When planning a visit to this Park, you can add activities and tours in various sectors of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, whose lakes, trails, recreational and camping areas add multiple options to complement the experience of the myrtle forest. Los Arrayanes NP has a circuit of walkways to explore this ancient forest.
5) Tierra del Fuego National Park
The southernmost protected area in Argentina protects Andean-Patagonic forests witness the meeting of the final stretch of the Andes Mountains with the sea in the Beagle Channel, that connects the Atlantic and South Pacific oceans. For this reason it is unique.
In autumn, the spectacle of lengas, a predominant species in the forests preserved in the Park, reigns in the landscape that turns reddish towards the mountain slopes that frame the area.
