According to testimonies collected by TMZ, the event occurred during the morning, after Muldoon shared a coffee with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

Heading to the shower, the actor remained in the bathroom for an unusually long period, which alerted Rothbart. Upon entering to check his condition, he found him collapsed on the floor. Although the emergency services responded immediately and began resuscitation maneuvers, death was declared at the scene.
